Welcome to Chain House

At Chain House we provide a peaceful family run B & B situated in the heart of Modbury.

Our gorgeous Grade II* listed home was built in the 17th and 18th centuries and is one of the most historically important buildings in the village.

We have lived here since 1960, and in recent years have renovated and restored the house to make it both extremely comfortable and easy to live in, while at the same time retaining all of its original character, features, and architectural integrity.

The house offers bed and breakfast accommodation, and whilst attached to the main body of the house, you will be entirely private in your own very spacious and self-contained wing at the back of the house, in the most peaceful of circumstances.

Whether you’re visiting Modbury for a particular event, for a relaxing short break in a beautiful area, for a family holiday close to the sea, or for a more energetic outdoor holiday, Chain House provides the perfect venue.

It's a great place to stay as a base to explore the South Devon countryside and coastline. We loved it here so much that we have visited several times and no doubt others will too!"
