Relax in our charming, light and generously sized, tastefully decorated, and character-filled bedrooms, each one looking out over the gardens and rooftops of Modbury, to the meadows and hills beyond. All of our beds and linen have been chosen with luxury and comfort in mind.

Altogether, we can accommodate eight people, and we are flexible about the way in which the accommodation is used. The house is perfect for a group of six to eight people who wish to be together, and we can offer the entire space for more extended periods on a self catering basis when available.

There are three double bedrooms:

On the top floor, Bedroom 1 is a huge and particularly gorgeous room spanning the full length of the building, it has an ensuite bathroom, and a separate single bed should it be needed for ‘family’ accommodation.

Please note that due to architectural constraints this bedroom is not accessed via a conventional door, but has a heavy curtain at the bottom of its own staircase, separating it from the lower floor for privacy.

Bedrooms 2 and 3 are on the first floor below. Bedroom 2 is slightly larger with both a double and single bed, once again allowing for extra sleeping space. Bedroom 3 has one double bed. These two bedrooms share a very well appointed bath/shower room.

Please note that bath towels are provided, but not beach towels.

Facilities

TV, WiFi, Hairdryers and Tea/Coffee making facilities in all bedrooms.

Eating

The bright open plan kitchen diner is welcoming and tastefully furnished. Guests share breakfast at a large communal table in a warm, relaxed and informal way. A full breakfast menu is offered, and with advance notice we will cater for any food allergies, or special dietary requirements. We always serve locally sourced foods, free range eggs and where possible organic products.

Relaxing

We provide for your sole use a delightful drawing room to enjoy and spend time in, which adjoins the kitchen/dining area and overlooks our lovely walled garden.

Rates

Bed and Breakfast - Two nights minimum stay.

Bedroom 1 - £90 per night

Bedrooms 2 and 3 - £80 per night

Single Occupancy - 20% off the above rates

£5 discount will be applied to all B&B bookings for fourth or subsequent nights

Whole apartment (on a self catering basis) ranges from £650 per week in low season to £1,100 in the peak season. Minimum stay varies, please ask us.

For weekly lets in peak season, the normal changeover day will be Saturday or Sunday.

Guest access

You have access to everything in the your house but please be aware we do not have private parking on site. There is some free parking on the street (first come first serve) but there is a pay and display car park at a cost of £5 per day or you can purchase from Modbury TIC a weekly pass with provision of your vehicle registration number . This also allows you access to car parking in neighbouring South Hams towns - Kingsbridge, Ivybridge, Totnes, Salcombe and Dartmouth.

Additional Information

Please note that we divide our time between London and Chain House, so at times we may be in residence in the adjacent main section of the house but the two sections have locked doors between and your privacy is assured. When we are staying at Chain House we will also have with us our two (very friendly and benign) spaniels, and our cat. You may run across them in our shared garden.
